Open Enrollment for the 2017-2018 school year begins December 1, 2016 and ends February 1, 2017. The school will be accepting applications for grades K-11 for the 2017-18 school year. If the number of applications submitted within this period of time exceeds the number of seats available for any grade level, a system generated, random lottery will be processed in order to determine who is offered a seat at the school. All applications submitted within the Open Enrollment period will have an equal opportunity for admission, regardless of whether they are submitted on the first day or the last day of Open Enrollment.
Applications for the 2016-17 school year will continue to be accepted through the end of the academic year. Applications submitted for the 2016-17 school year will not be valid, roll over, or be processed in the 2017-18 lottery. A new application must be submitted during the Open Enrollment period in order to be considered for a 2017-18 seat.
For more information regarding lottery preferences, enrollment, and registration, please view our Lottery Rules and Procedures.
Langtree Charter Academy admits students of any race, national origin, gender, marital status, religion, ethnicity, or disability. It is the intention of the school to reflect the community it serves and is open to any student residing in North Carolina. Enrollment preference is given to siblings of currently enrolled students and children of Langtree Charter Academy full-time employees.
Applications received during the “Open Enrollment” window will be eligible for the lottery. In the event that the number of applications exceeds the number of available spaces for any grade level, a lottery will be held to determine who is offered a seat and establish the wait list for that grade. Our lottery will be held February 17, 2017. The lottery results will be posted on this page, and the first round of offers will be extended to all of the applicants selected in the lottery process. An official offer will be extended to the applicants selected in the lottery process via letter, email, or phone call. They will have one week (7 days), starting from their offer date, to either accept or decline the extended offer.
Should an applicant not get selected in the lottery process, they will automatically be placed on the waiting list. As seats become available, applicants on the waiting list will receive offers. Therefore, an applicant that is not selected in the lottery will not receive any formal communication from the school until they are extended an offer via letter, email, or phone call. If you would like to know where your child currently is on the wait list, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
