Langtree Charter Academy
Langtree Charter Academy is a tuition-free public charter school in Mooresville, educating students in grades K-12. Langtree Charter Academy is governed by North Carolina Charter Educational Foundation and a member of the Charter Schools USA (CSUSA) family of schools.
Langtree Charter Academy is open to all school aged students who reside in the State of North Carolina.
The Mission of Langtree Charter Academy is to build a rigorous and productive learning environment where students can reach their academic potential and where teachers set clear educational goals. We value the relationship between the teacher and student and the role the family plays in a child’s academic and social development. At their foundation, teachers, parents and students at Langtree Charter Academy will have the shared academic philosophy that all children can learn, become self-motivated life-long learners, function as responsible citizens, and realize their potential as productive members of the local and global societies and the 21st century workforce. A focus on citizenship and experimental learning through community engagement will be present at every grade level. Building upon this foundation enables students from all socioeconomic levels to realize their academic and personal potential and to prepare to enter, compete, and succeed as students and, later, as professionals.
Programs and Services
- Personalized Learning Plans – Assessments are performed periodically to determine how your child will learn best. Learning styles are established to tailor lesson plans to meet the needs of each student.
- Access to PowerSchool’s Student Information System – Parents are given access to their children’s personal information through a password-protected computer-based system that allows them to monitor their progress. Parents can monitor test scores, homework and attendance on a daily basis.
- Parent Involvement – We know that children enjoy greater success in school when the adults they admire most take an interest in their education. Our students’ parents are required to commit to volunteer hours each year for the school. These hours foster closer relationships and ensure a more secure learning environment.
- Uniforms – A school uniform policy is enforced. School uniforms must be purchased exclusively from a Langtree Charter Academy approved vendor only. School uniforms instill a sense of pride in the school as well as each child’s individual appearance. Uniforms allow students to focus on their education instead of designer labels and fashion trends.
